Policy on Litter

The council have put in place a policy which has reduced the litter in the parish to a very low level.

It has been achieved by a commitment to the following:

1. Supplying litter bins at strategic points and ensuring that they are maintained. This is achieved through WODC, the Village Hall Management Committee, and Parish Councillors whilst on play park rota.

2. Supplying dog waste bins (arranged through WODC) at strategic points and monitoring their maintenance.

3.  Erection of open notice boards to reduce the incidents of fly posting.

4. Employing a local subcontractor to keep abreast of any local litter issues, cleaning up as necessary, removing fly posting, maintaining open notice boards and reporting back to the Parish Council.

5. Engaging with the village to encourage organisers of events in the village to tidy up after their events.

6. Arranging occasional volunteer working parties to address problem areas.

7. Encouraging all residents through the Grapevine newsletter and the Village website to dispose of all waste in the most appropriate way.

  1. 8.Investigating reported areas of littering and taking appropriate action to control the issues.

This policy is always open for review and any changes thought necessary will be put in place.
