Freeland Knit and Natter Group

This friendly group meets each Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 – 4:00pm in Freeland Chapel.  None of us can come every week, but come, when we can, to enjoy a time of friendship whilst crafting.

We work mainly on our own projects which might include embroidery, patchwork, sewing, crochet or knitting.

Having spent the last few months of 2011 in producing hats, scarves, gloves, teddies, slippers, purses and other items to fill some of the Operation Christmas Child Shoe boxes, the members of the Knit and Natter Group are now starting on a new project……. helping to clothe premature babies in Africa.

These newborn babies are being called  “FISH & CHIP” babies because they are sent home from hospital, wrapped in newspaper for warmth. The knitting pattern we follow uses about 2oz. double knitting wool in bright or mixed colours to make a small one-piece jumper with a matching “beanie” hat to go with it.

If you are interested in hand crafts and would like to join this pleasant group, you will be warmly welcomed.

It costs £1 per session to cover heating, lighting and refreshments.
