Gardening Club
2012
Freeland Gardening Club is a very friendly and successful club with over 100 members and is led by an enthusiastic committee. It was formed to promote interest in gardening and horticulture in general.
Membership is open to anyone interested in gardening on payment of a joining fee of £5 and an annual subscription fee of £12 (junior members are welcome free).
Visitors are welcomed at £3.00 per meeting.
The Club visited Coughton Court in Warwickshire with its wonderful house and gardens in July 2011
There is a programme of talks, discussions, demonstrations and visits to places of horticultural interest, and numerous other Club activities are promoted as appropriate events arise.
We meet regularly on the fourth Monday of most months, except when the date coincides with a Bank Holiday. There is no meeting in December and the August meeting is a social event. The Club meets in Freeland Hall at 7.30 p.m.
Meetings consist of talks or demonstrations followed by a social time for refreshments. There is a Bring and Buy Stall and proceeds are donated to local charities.
